What is Wine Jelly?
That's a simple question - its jelly made from wine.

Wine Jelly is simply the art of taking Wine, cooking it at high heats and following a safe and proven recipe convert the wine into a highly versatile condiment spread with many ways to use – here on our website we try and spur everyone’s imagination.

Why Wine Jelly?
Here at Berkshire Wine Jelly we have a saying “Wine, it’s not just for drinkin"
More than a decade ago, it dawned on us that traditional wine made from specific types of grapes and specifically for drinking.  When making Berkshire Wine Jelly, we use the following wine: Cabernet, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel, Champagne, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Rosé.

The delightful flavors of the wine used in crafting our Berkshire Wine Jelly produces an easy and fun versatile condiment. The tasty opportunities are endless!


What does Wine Jelly Taste Like?
 If you lined up all 8 of our Wine Jelly varieties you’d be looking at 8 jars of Grape Jelly from 8 different Wine Grapes …..so in manner of speaking Wine Jelly taste like Grape Jelly, and each one offering different fruit notes, some varieties we enhance with additional, herbs and spices.

How to use Wine Jelly?
The possibilities are endless! There is no simple answer – the best response is we really haven’t found too many things it doesn’t help elevate!

  • Serve alongside your glass of wine with cheese and crackers
  • On charcuterie or grazing boards
  • As a glaze
  • Stir, mix or float on top of cocktails and mocktails
  • In sauces, marinades, and salad Dressings
  • In place of sugar in recipes
  • Stir in Tea (hot or cold) 
  • Swirl in whipped cream
  • On top of a block of cream cheese (all varietals work, but especially the Devil's Fire Wine Jelly or the Blueberry Lavender!)
  • Hot Cereal
  • Overnight Oats
  • Most definitely, PB&J!
  • Waffles and pancakes
  • Grilled cheese sandwiches
  • Use anywhere you would regular fruit flavored jelly


Is there Alcohol in Wine Jelly?
There are very small trace amounts of alcohol in our jellies.  
Making Wine Jelly is a bit of a long laborious process  cooking the wine for a sustained period of time above 200F that eliminates almost all of the alcohol.

How to store Wine Jelly and the shelf-life?
On each jar of Berkshire Wine Jelly you will find a "best by date" code on the bottom. Wine Jelly should be refrigerated after opening and will last for several months – although we hope you finish it right away and buy more!
